Message from the developers

Dear user,

Thank you for your interest in ActiveDriverDB. ActiveDriverDB is an online database developed to visualize and explore mutations affecting post-translational modification (PTM) sites in human proteins/genes (hg19/GRCh37).

• The homepage allows you to quickly search or browse through all PTM mutations as identified by several independent genome-wide large-scale studies (39,159 proteins, >5 million mutations, 385,185 PTM sites). Alternatively, you can upload your own SNV data and visualize the PTM impact of your mutations using our visualization platform.

• The Sequence View tab of the search results page provides you with a needle plot and tabular summary of all PTM site mutations identified in your protein/gene (hg19/GRCh37) of interest. Here you can filter your results based on the specific type of PTM, cancer type, and/or mutation subset (e.g. clinical significance, population-specificity).

• The Network View tabs of the results page allow you to explore how your protein’s PTMs may affect interactions with kinases, and which ones can be targeted with drugs. Here, each one of your protein’s PTMs are visualized as an intermediate between your protein of interest and the kinase which has been shown to interact with that PTM site. Kinase-targeting drugs in turn are shown as connections to the kinases. Note that all data and figures can be downloaded for your convenience.

The following visual tutorial was put together to illustrate some of ActiveDriverDB’s features, as well as, demonstrate how to view and download your search results. If you have any feedback or would like to contact us, please send us a message via the Contact Us page or email our development team.

Thank you,
